As you may or may not know, travel insurance companies will not cover Freestyle Skiers, Snowboarders or Alpine Racers while they are competing. Because of this, a special policy has been organised by AWSC for participants on this years Silver Star camps.
It is not compulsory for participants to take out this policy, but we would strongly recommend it as it will cover you during the actual competition run. It also has similar benefits to other travel insurance policies.
For those of you who do not wish to take the above policy, you may organise your own travel insurance. You must be aware that regular travel insurance will NOT cover you if you have an accident during an actual competition run. Be sure to read the details of each policy carefully.
NOTE: If you choose not to take competition insurance, you will not be able to compete in events at any level while in Canada with AWSC.
Pre Departure Cancellation Travel Insurance: AWSC strongly recommends that every participant take out pre-departure cancellation travel insurance. This protects you in case you need to cancel due to medical reasons etc. This should be taken out as soon as your deposit is paid to AWSC and or your airfare paid to the travel agent whichever is first)
