Silver Star - The home of AWSC & Australia's moguls skiers... Yes, it's confirmed! Not only will the AWSC mogul program training in Silver Star, but all of Australia's National Teams will also be training there during December 07 - January 08. The sub Development Mogul Team coached by Jussi Kinnunen, Development Mogul Team coach by Toppa and the World Cup Team coached by Steve Desovich will all train in Silver Star this season. If you would like to be a part of this fantastic training environment then make sure you're a part of the AWSC mogul program.

AWSC Stand at National Interschools at Falls Creek... AWSC will have a stand at the presentations of the National Interschools at Falls Creek from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th September. The AWSC stand will be located at the presentations held at Cloud 9 Restaurant each day. AWSC Athletes Ski Well @ ABOM Mogul Challenge... The 19th ABOM Mogul Challenge was held under clear skies at Mt Buller last weekend. With a strong International field, great course with huge jumps the crowd enjoyed some of the best mogul skiing ever seen in Australia. Many past and current AWSC skiers took part with many doing well including Ramone Cooper who finished 2nd in the opens men's category behind Canadian Alex BILODEAU.

AWSC Athletes Clean Up at Vic Interschools... The Victorian Interschools have just concluded at Mt Buller. Current and past AWSC athletes have been taking part with many taking out placing's in their respective divisions and disciplines.

Melinda Cleland Joins The AWSC Staff... Melinda 'Min' Cleland joins this AWSC staff this year and takes over the off snow operations coordinators position. Min has an amazing sporting background firstly as an elite level gymnast and member of the Sydney 2000 Olympic team and most recently as an aerialist with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. In between achieving her sporting goals she has also qualified as a fitness trainer and has completed a journalism degree. Min's sporting background, residential camp experience, strong organisation skills and infectious personality will be a huge benefit to this year camps and we welcome her. |

Peter Mc Niel returns to AWSC to coach the mogul / freeski program... Peter Mc Niel returns to AWSC for his fourth year and will again take control of the mogul program. Pete is a past member of the National Development Mogul Team and is still an active competitor on the Australian circuit. Based at Mt Buller, Pete is a Team Buller member and Mogul Coach for the Buller Riders program. He has a fantastic technical knowledge of mogul skiing and is very passionate and enthusiastic about coaching and seeing athletes improve. |

Ben Mates Returns To Coach With AWSC... Ben Mates, an Australian 2006 Winter Olympian and one of Australia's leading riders returns to AWSC to coach for the 07/08 camps in Silver Star Canada. Ben coached with AWSC last season and did a great job and all those who rode with him benefited from his wealth of knowledge and experience. We welcome Matesy back and look forward to a big year for the snowboard program.

Aldred, Begg, Ebbern and Armstrong Return to AWSC for 07/08... Long time AWSC coaches and staff Stuart Aldred, Adam (Beggsy) Begg and Chris Ebbern return to coach with AWSC for the 2007/08 programs. John Armstrong, new to AWSC last year will also return. Stuart will return to his position of program manger and will oversee the operation of the the camps. Beggsy will return to his role as Head Snowboard coach, Chris is back as Head Freeride Ski coach while John take the reins again as Head Race Coach. AWSC will continue to announce coach and staff appointments over the next few weeks so make sure you check out the website for the latest additions to the coaching panel. |

After a very successful inaugural year theGOSSS. Girls Only Ski and Snowboard Sessions return to AWSC. TheGOSSS sessions are available to all female skiers and boarders on any of the AWSC Silver Star programs. With multiple sessions available throughout the week, female participants have flexibility and option to join either the ski or snowboard sessions and rip it up in an all girl environment where there will be plenty of fun and no pressure. |

AWSC is pleased to announce that Canadian Phil Bérubé has joined the AWSC coaching team for the 07/08 camps and will look after the Alpine Snowboard / BX program. Phil is a member of the Canadian Snowboard Team and has competed at the 2006 Olympics and in over 30 World Cups. During his off season Phil spends his time in Australia as the head coach for the Mt Buller race Club snowboard program. Phil's background as both a competitor and coach are fantastic and will be of great benefit to all the riders that train with him. |
