Hi All,
Day off today with everyone loving the sleep in. At 8.45am Min did the wake up and as usual most opted for more sleep over the full cooked breakfast waiting for them downstairs.
The morning was once again operation clean and disinfect in order to get the rooms back to something resembling normality. To get this crew – both boys and girls to clean is like pulling teeth – both painful and uncomfortable. For the rest of the morning the groups relaxed; some here at the lodge while others went and hung out having coffee / hot chocolate in the village.
Today’s activity was the ever popular trampolining and gym session down in Kelowna. The vans were piloted by Chris and Matesy and they headed out straight after lunch for the hours trip down to Kelowna. The two most popular apparatus were definitely the trampolines and the double mini into the foam pits. After a couple hours of hucking and flipping they were back in the vans and heading for home. I should mention Matesy was a close runner up for Pinky today for missing the turn off in Kelowna on the way to skating and managing to get himself lost.
The alpine guys were back on snow today with a full GS session this morning. The two James’ only skied half day today as they opted to go trampolining with the rest of the group this afternoon. They’ll be back out on snow for a full session tomorrow.
Lunch today was Emma’s Thai Chicken and Coconut soup plus sambos while dinner was a touch of Greek with souvlaki, falafel and Greek salad plus more of last night’s apple crumble, yummy!
Pinky today has to go to yours truly. I was up at 5.30am this morning to drive Legs and the mogul group to the airport. I was in making some toast for breakfast and got distracted and headed upstairs to start and warm up a van. Anyway the toaster did not pop and the toast burnt managing to send off the smoke alarm. Normally not too much of a problems except at 5.45am most normal people are still asleep.
Tonight’s activity (yes another double header today) was a group snow tubing session over at Tube Town. The entire group headed over just after dinner for a couple of hours of tubing. The cold conditions and dry snow meant that the tubing lanes were super fast making for an even more fun night. As usual there was the “too cool for gloves and hat” crew who managed to freeze their butts off… they can only be told so many times…maybe they’ll learn one day.
Ridley has spent the night out building the mogul course with the Silver Star coaches in preparation for this weekend big freestyle event here in Silver Star. The old mogul course we’ve been using for the past couple of weeks has been flattened and the new one will take shape tonight.
Only a short update today as there were limited on snow activities to report. We have a full week of coaching ahead of us and there are also plenty of events coming up so stay tuned for a plenty of info over the coming few days.
Until Tomorrow
Stowie
