Australian Winter Sports Camps

Date: 26th of January 2008

The last day of the camp today and there was no real rush for everyone to get up and out of bed too quickly. Breakfast was at 9.00am with everyone straggling down for their last breakfast by 9.30am.

The morning was spent cleaning up and trying to get this place back to how it was when we arrived 6 weeks ago. There was some last minute packing by a few but most had already taken care of that last night. Some headed into the village for some last minute presents while others just hung out and exchanged contact details for back home.

Lunch was at 1.00pm and then we loaded everyone’s gear into the vans for the trip down to the airport. We departed Silver Star and headed to the airport at 2.00pm and arrived just after 3.00pm and started the mass check-in.

The plane departed just after 5.30pm with everyone one board and on their way home. The last six weeks have absolutely flown by and it’s only now that that I have a second to take a breath and sit and reflect on the success of the programs this year. I was going to sit down and write the final super update but instead decide that tonight’s update is going to be super short one because after 6 weeks we all need a break.

AWSC Weekly Awards
	The Bolle Big Break Award is awarded by the coaches to the athlete who has made the most improvement over the past week. This week it was awarded to Julia Harper.
	The Helly Hansen Encouragement Award is awarded by the coaches to the skier and snowboarder who has contributed the most effort and tried the hardest over the past week. This week it was Brodie Summers and Emma Early.
	This year we will also have the XTM training eXcellence award which will be awarded on a weekly basis. This week it was awarded to Hamish Scarff.

	Pinky is finally on holiday he will rest until next years camp where he will be back raring and ready to go.
